Description
Pre-Cut Iron-on labels
Items of clothing get lost in so many places. So it makes sense to mark every item. Particularly for residents of Care Homes or children at school or nursery. But for just a few pence this could be a problem of the past. Marking all of your School uniforms with iron-on labels is the most obvious thing to do. This could prevent the accidental taking of the garment and making a found item as easy as possible to return.
Tested to BS5742
Tested to BS5742 these iron-on labels are designed to stay on for the life of the garment and are used by Health Authorities, Laundries & Colleges. Now they are available to you. Printed with two lines of text you can have your child’s name and class or any other details of your choice permanently on the garment. Include your phone number so when it’s found they can contact you?
Easy application
The application couldn’t be easier. Peel the name label off the backing paper. Place the label on the garment. Set your iron to number 2 or 3 and you’re away. If you cannot iron the garment, sew the label on in the usual way. These tapes hold more information than a woven tape. So why not take advantage of the latest technology today?
Durable
This material is a woven, porous, “nylon-like” material. When printed the ink is thermally introduced into the material. A similar process to tattooing human skin. Like a tattoo, the ink will not fade or wash off. It has amazing properties and is almost indestructible.
Made from a coated woven white fabric they are very durable and wash fast. They are QUICKLY AND EASILY applied using a domestic iron. When applied correctly these name tapes will withstand many washing and drying cycles.
Versatile Iron-On labels
Label size is 46mm wide x 12mm high. The label is Die cut giving rounded corners to stop discomfort and fraying. Each label has 2 lines of text of up to 27 characters and spaces per line making them ideal labels for:
- School Name Tapes
- Care Home Labels
- Laundry labels
- Workwear labels
It’s important to note that these are not the old iron-on’s from the 1970s and 80s. Bought on your high street or market you never quite knew how good they’d be. Adhesive technology has progressed to the point that these iron-on labels are as close to permanent as possible. With most clothing, you will throw away the garment as being too worn or small before the name tape begins to peel. The heatseal adhesive on these nametapes is designed to stay on for the life of the garment. In fact, we are often asked how to remove them so the garment can be handed down. The answer? You can’t. iron another label over the top of the old one.
- Printed with non-fade permanent inks
- Applied using a normal household iron on medium heat
- Bonds permanently to fabric

Please Note: Iron-On name labels are not suitable for Terry towelling, fluffy or wool materials. They are also not suitable for Teflon or Scotchgard protected garments. This is because these are non-stick coatings. On these items, we would recommend our sew-in name labels which can be found here.
